Fresh Roast Plus 8

The Fresh Roast Plus 8 is very easy to use, well built, quiet and affordable – a great unit to start roasting your own coffee beans at home! It is very compact in size (small enough for any countertop) and also makes the perfect gift! It’s a great roaster to learn about the roasting process because you can easily see, hear and smell the beans roasting in the glass chamber so it's easy to tell when the beans are done. This roaster has a fairly small capacity of 3.5 ounces of green coffee (makes about 6-8 cups of coffee) but this has the advantage of speeding up the roast time (from start to finish about 5-7 minutes) and ensuring that the roasted coffee is used quickly – makes for a Fresh Roast! Improvements from the previous model include: an improved roasting chamber made from aluminium, a higher speed fan to reduce the roasting temperature (results in a more even roast), variable resistor that will keep the RPMs constant no matter what your voltage , and roasts about 1/3 more beans than the original fresh roast. We find that it produces a nice even roast with less smoke than the previous model.

Instructions for Roasting:

This roaster has three parts, the Chaff Collector, the Roasting Chamber, and the Heated Base.

Remove the Top & Basket assembly "Chaff Collector"

Add two scoops of your favourite green coffee beans (scoop is provided)

Replace the Chaff Collector and set the timer for 5 – 6 minutes. Note: The timer will also add a two-minute cool down period following the timed setting

To stop the roast at any time, should the desired level of roast be reached prior to completion of the timed setting, just advance the Timer to cool. Don't turn it to off, as the roaster is quite hot and needs the two minutes of cooling before being handled.

Once the machine has turned off, remove the Chaff Collector, lift out the Roast Chamber by its handle and dump out your freshly roasted coffee beans . Enjoy!
